                   The Silken Windhounds at Ravenwood

A little puppy joined us in our Central Oregon home in 2007

Who knew he'd grow up into such a wonderful dog.

I have the pleasure of  sharing my life with this fantastic K-9.

It's been an adventure having this boy in our lives.

In the years past, I've have been involved in conformation, obedience,

field work, flyball and have touched on tracking and herding.

Kamiah has introduced us to a couple of new sports,  racing and lure coursing.

He gets so excited when he sees the lure. The mild mannered boy turns into

a white tornado. It's so exciting to see a dog do something it truly loves to do.

I can't help but smile everytime I see him run.

This is Kamiah's page.

My little 3 1/2 year old trainer Avery has Kamiah playing with

the lure attached to the buggy whip and having a blast!

                                  About Silkens

  1.      Silken Windhounds are known for their
  2.  wonderful  sweet temperament. While they share the aloof nature of most sighthounds, they are happy to be family pets and happiest being with their people. Silkens are easily trained and eager to please. They require very little grooming. They remind me of cats.
  3.  They love to run and chase but can be so quiet that you would forget that they are even there. Silkens love to have soft places to lay. They are very happy to have a big fluffy pillow, a couch or your bed to take a nap on. They like to chase things that move.  Butterflies arn't safe if fluttering by.
